Beyond the Baster

Are you a queer couple or single person thinking about having kids and unsure where to start? Do you suffer from “social infertility” (aka no sperm)? Come to this introductory class to learn the ins and outs of alternative insemination, meet other people who share your desire to parent, and get connected to Refuge, your resource for all things fertility care.

Class will cover

  • Different conception methods and success rates

  • How to track a menstrual cycle, identify ovulation, and time insemination

  • Where to get sperm

  • Supporting your fertility and care provider options including midwife supported IUI with Refuge

Our in person session is a chance to drink seltzer and connect with other queers/solo people who are at a similar stage of their family building journey. This class is only open to LGBTQ+ and solo people pursuing parenthood.
